Finding a Home on the Internet
There are literally thousands of websites containing listings of homes for sale. The following are sites that our buyer clients tell us they like the best (add www.):
KreuserAndSeiler.com Our company website contains all our company’s listings plus all Multiple Listing Service (MRED, LLC) listings in the Chicago area.
(You’re on it now!) Newly listed homes and changes to current listings
are downloaded every 30 minutes from the MLS. This is your best internet
source if you are looking for a home in the Chicago area. To search listings, click here. To have new listings that meet your criteria automatically emailed to you, click here.
Realtor.com Most Multiple Listing Services in the United States feed their new listings to this site on a regular basis. Some
of the information on this site, however, is out of date, so be sure to
confirm with your CENTURY 21 Kreuser and Seiler agent that a home is
still available before getting too excited! You will also have to put up with some advertising and offers of services on this site.
CENTURY21.com This recently updated site is one of the most popular company websites in the world. Like Realtor.com, it now contains listings from most of the Multiple Listing Services in the U.S., plus a lot of other valuable information. It also links directly to our company site (kreuserandseiler.com).
MSN.com, AOL.com, Zillow, Trulia, Google and many others Many popular internet service providers rely on Realtor.com to push its listings to their respective sites. The
data is more or less the same, but it may be packaged differently (with
advertising), and it may take a little longer for the information to
reach these sites.
Most
of the above sites rely on multiple listing services for their data.
The MLS’s typically allow their members (like our company) a grace
period of 3 days or so to submit new listings and changes to their
databases. This same information
is then “pulled” from the MLS’s by the various websites at various time
intervals, but not instantaneously! For these reasons, it’s
very likely that the information getting to the ultimate viewer (you!)
via the Internet is not as current as what is known by a good, local
Realtor.
Bottom line: The Internet has become a tremendous source of general information about homes for sale. If
you need current data about a specific home or just someone who can
sift through all the raw data to find your perfect home, please contact
any CENTURY 21 Kreuser and Seiler agent you know, or click here for an agent recommendation.
